THREE GREAT WAYS TO EXPERIENCE HORSES!!!
During camp week 1 - July 1-6
This week is for experienced riders age 10 to 16. Campers can bring their own horse for this week or rent a camp horse. For this program campers are expected to tack and untack without help, feed and care for their horses whether renting or bringing their own. Campers will be riding for 2 ½ hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, weather permitting. This is a strenuous program so it is suggested that campers and horses spend some time getting in shape before arriving at camp. Staff will lead campers through a variety of activities including trail rides, trail obstacles, riding patterns, mounted games, jumping and dressage. Campers can choose to ride either English or Western. After a short riding evaluation, campers will be grouped according to class preference. It is important to send camp a statement of camper riding experience so that staff can best serve the needs of the camper during horse camp. **Enrollment in the Rent-a-horse program is very limited. If you are interested, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible to reserve your spot in the program. Additional fees for Horse Camp: With your own horse: $150, Horse Camp with a rental horse $200
Available during camp weeks 4 & 5 - July 22-27, July 29 - August 3
This is an opportunity for campers to get more riding and instruction time. Campers will spend 2 ½ hours caring for horses and getting riding instruction. Campers will do a short riding assessment and work with staff to design activities that improve their skills. Space is limited. Week 4 & 5 Horse Focus requires an additional $175 fee, to be paid with registration.
Available during camp weeks 2 through 5.
This program is open to any camper regardless of horse experience. Campers will help with horse chores in the morning and have 1 hour of riding instruction. Based on the campers skill level and experience riding instruction begins in the ring and may include a trail ride at the end of the week. Space is limited. The Horsemanship Activity requires an additional $125 fee, to be paid with registration.
